Overview Player/coach manager responsible for a team of Wealth Advisors and for delivering wealth advisory services. Leads, hires, coaches, develops the team and works closely with senior management.Primary Responsibilities Lead a team of Wealth Advisors to meet objectives.Oversee Advisor pipelines, sales and activities including client, prospect, COI, pre and post calls, relationship reviews, sales coaching, and team sales coaching programs.Ensure client experience aligns with the Wealth Advisor‑led, team‑based operating model delivering integrated, holistic wealth management advice.Deepen existing client relationships, drive new client relationships, and leverage multiple wealth advisory solutions (planning, fiduciary, investments, private banking, brokerage, insurance) to support growth.Develop and maintain a pipeline of Wealth Advisor talent to support business growth.Collaborate with management to ensure client service and sales enablement partnership delivers an excellent client experience.Drive individual production as a Wealth Advisor.Exercise managerial authority over staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.Ensure adherence to Company risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk.Identify risk issues requiring escalation to management.Promote an environment of belonging that reflects the M&T Bank brand.Maintain M&T internal control standards and implement audit points and regulator issues.Maintain registration requirements under the Federal SAFE Act.Perform other related duties as assigned.Scope of Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight of a Wealth Advisor sales team within a specific region, assisting the Market Leader in developing strategic sales plans and delivering results.Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities Manage a staff ranging from 4 to 8 Advisors.Education and Experience Required Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience or, in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 13 years higher education and/or work experience with at least 9 years relevant experience.Minimum of 3 years managerial, supervisory and/or work leadership experience.Experience selling effectively to current and prospective clients.Knowledge of wealth management and industry product offerings.Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, analytical, decision‑making and strategic planning skills.Proficiency with personal computers and relevant software packages.Education and Experience Preferred Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA).Certified Financial Planner (CFP).Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA).Certified Public Accountant (CPA).Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.Demonstrated in‑depth wealth management product knowledge.Excellent sales and relationship management skills.Prior trust planning, fiduciary, private banking and/or investment experience.Compensation Pay range: $184,400.00 – $307,400.00 (USD).Location Hartford, Connecticut, United States of America.Equal Employment Opportunity Statement M&T Bank is unwavering when it comes to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, age, disability, citizenship, pregnancy, veteran status, military status, marital status, sexual orientation, genetic information or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state or local laws.
