Functional webmaster on web pages, images, materials, forms, templates, etc.; manages the custom County built CMS; works with the vendor and / or the in-house IT team to identify and resolve web-related problems when needed.
Responsible for scheduling, coordinating, managing the agendas and follow-up notations, for the County Web Team Committee.
Maintains ADA / WCAG accessibility compliance on all webpages, sites, digital assets, and in other spaces assigned.
Designs and creates graphical materials, most often items for use on the web and other digital sources but will occasionally be assigned to create items for print, social media and community-based advertising partners.
Utilize, implement, and maintain industry-standard best practices, design trends, and data-driven user experience methodologies in all tasks.
Respond courteously and timely to inquiries from County divisions.
Creates content for use within webpages. Proofreads and copy edits all work products, both for self and for team colleagues as needed, according to AP Style.
Provide photographic support as assigned, including but not limited to, photo opportunities, headshot photographs, photographic retouching, and photo composition creation.
Maintain and continue to improve design skills through professional development both within the office environment and beyond.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Essential
Bachelor's degree in website management, information technology, user experience, or related discipline.
1-3 years' experience.
Experience training and assisting staff with web site functions.
Knowledge of typography, photography, printing procedures, graphic design best practices, and ability to stay aware of industry shifts and standards.
Experience with Active Service Pages (ASP) coding, HTML, and CSS.
Experience working within and managing a content management system (CMS).
Experience with Google Analytics.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in MS Office Suite.
Proficiency with the Creative Suite including but not limited to Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, etc.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Preferred
Knowledge of Somerset County Government and the operations of the individual Departments and Divisions therein.
Salary: $45,000-$60,000/year
