Job Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Director of Marketing and Foundation, plans, develops, and maintains the college's website, intranet platforms, and digital communication channels. Supports content creation for social media platforms to promote college programs, services, and initiatives while ensuring accurate, accessible, and engaging digital content that supports institutional priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update the college website, intranet, and social media platforms to ensure accurate, timely, and engaging content.
  • Collaborate with departments to create and publish content that supports institutional goals, recruitment, student success, and community engagement.
  • Ensure all digital content complies with applicable accessibility standards (WCAG and ADA) and promote best practices for accessible web and social media communications.
  • Monitor website content for accuracy, consistency, usability, and branding, coordinating regular content reviews with campus departments.
  • Manage the colleges content management system (CMS), user permissions, and site organization.
  • Monitor website and social media analytics to evaluate performance and recommend improvements.
  • Optimize web content for search engines (SEO) and user experience.
  • Collaborate with Marketing department colleagues to maintain consistent branding, messaging, and visual standards across the colleges website, intranet, and social media platforms.
  • Work with the Marketing department to post and create social media content.
  • Coordinate with Information Technology and external vendors to support website functionality, integrations, security, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain the college intranet as a central resource for employee communication, collaboration, and institutional information.
  • Stay current on emerging trends, technologies, accessibility requirements, and best practices in web development, digital communications, and social media.

Related Responsibilities

  • Participate in institutional committees and meetings as needed.
  • Participate in campus activities and promote college programs and events to faculty, staff, students, and the community.
  • Participate in the College's recruitment efforts by reviewing and providing recommendations for program publications, the College's website, social media, marketing materials, and other community relations activities.
  • Maintain a high level of professional skills and abilities through participation in professional organizations, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or members of College Leadership.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of content management systems, web publishing, digital communication strategies, and social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA), user experience principles, SEO, analytics, and digital content best practices.
  • Knowledge of institutional branding, copyright, FERPA, and applicable regulations related to digital communications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, SharePoint, and collaboration tools.
  • Strong written, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Skill in creating, organizing, publishing, and maintaining digital content across web, intranet, and social media platforms.
  • Skill in using CMS, SharePoint, social media management, and analytics tools.
  • Skill in managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Web Design, Graphic Design, Information Technology, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Two to four years of professional experience managing websites, digital communications, social media, or digital marketing.
  • Experience using the WordPress content management system (CMS), or a similar platform.
  • Experience creating and managing content for websites and social media.
  • Experience ensuring digital content meets accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA).

Preferred

  • Experience with SharePoint and content management systems used to support organizational communication and collaboration.
  • Experience using website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to monitor and improve performance.

LONGEVITY

Longevity is a yearly lump-sum payment you receive after working 10 years:

SICK LEAVE

You earn 12 days per year (8 hours per month). This leave can accumulate indefinitely. When you retire, available sick hours will convert to creditable service with the Retirement System.

The sum of all paid holidays will not exceed 12 days. Employees may be required to take paid leave or leave without pay for days other than the 12 specified holidays.

HEALTH INSURANCE

You may join the State Health Plan. There is an employee contribution to the State Health Plan; however, the State pays a portion of the monthly premium as well. Dependents may also be covered. You may elect 70/30 coverage or 80/20 coverage. Upon retirement, coverage may continue; however, it depends on the conditions under which you retire. It should be noted that insurance premiums are expensive, and rates/coverage may change annually. Open enrollment allows for changes to be made to your health coverage, and it is usually conducted in October each year.

RETIREMENT

Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System (TSERS)

Six percent of your gross salary as pre-taxed dollars goes into your retirement account monthly. A death benefit of one time's your annual salary (minimum $25,000 and maximum $50,000) is provided to you once you have been in the system for one year. Once you have completed five years in the system, you are considered to be vested.

Unreduced Retirement Benefits are available as follow:

Age 65 with 5 years of service

Age 60 with 25 years of service

Any age with 30 years of service

Disability Income Plan:

Is provided through TSERS. The plan provides short-term benefits after one year in the system. After a sixty-day waiting period, the plan pays 50% of

your salary and longevity up to $3,000 per month for one year.

It also provides long-term benefits after you are vested (5 years in the system). The plans pays 65% of your salary and longevity, up to $3900 per month until the disability ends. Long-term benefits include health coverage and the death benefit. Payments will be reduced if you are receiving social security disability benefits or workers compensation benefits.

WORKERS COMPENSATION

Upon an accidental injury on the job, you will be covered by Workers Compensation. You should notify your supervisor and Human Resources immediately when an accident or injury on the job occurs.

PERSONAL OBSERVANCE DAY

Eligible employees may receive 8 hours of paid leave on a single day of personal significance each calendar year. May include days of cultural and/or religious importance, but it is not limited to those. It may be any day that is significant to the eligible employee.
