Job Summary

Seeking a Temporary Website Content Assistant to support day-to-day content updates on the Questrom website. Working under the direction of the Manager, Website Maintenance & Content Management, this position will populate, format, and maintain web content using WordPress's Gutenberg block editor. This role focuses on straightforward website updates and recurring annual content refreshes. The ideal candidate has hands-on Gutenberg experience and the ability to turn supplied content and clear instructions into accurate, consistently formatted web pages.

Key Responsibilities

• Populate pages using established Gutenberg blocks, patterns, and page templates, accurately entering statistics, demographic information, images, and other supplied content.
• Upload and format approved blog posts, news stories, and profile content, including images, links, categories, and other required fields.
• Enter supplied SEO titles, meta descriptions, and other publishing information.
• Resize, crop, compress, and upload images according to provided specifications.
• Preview updates on desktop and mobile to check formatting, readability, and consistency before publication, and check links, images, headings, spacing, and downloadable files for accuracy.
• Follow established accessibility practices, including appropriate heading structure, descriptive link text, and image alternative text.
• Communicate questions and blockers promptly.
• Responsibilities may encompass any kind of content population work.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience updating and publishing website content in WordPress using the Gutenberg block editor.
• Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail when entering copy, statistics, names, and links.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, follow instructions, and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with basic web accessibility and content formatting practices.
• Clear communication skills and sound judgment about when to ask questions or escalate an issue.

Preferred Skills

• Experience maintaining a higher education or other large organizational website.
