Job Description

This role focuses on performing industrial maintenance and repair on mechanical equipment and metal molds during the weekend day shift. You will troubleshoot and repair production molds, perform basic metal fabrication and welding, and complete preventative maintenance tasks to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently. The position requires hands-on mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety in a busy manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform industrial maintenance and repair on mechanical equipment and production molds to ensure reliable operation.
• Conduct metal fabrication on small parts to repair and restore metal molds to proper working condition.
• Perform minor stick and MIG welding to support mold repair and equipment maintenance.
• Clean and organize work areas around molds to prepare for production and maintain a safe, efficient workspace.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on equipment and molds as assigned.
• Inspect equipment and molds for wear, damage, or defects and take corrective action or escalate as needed.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements while performing maintenance tasks.
• Adhere strictly to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when servicing equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
• Identify and report safety hazards, equipment deficiencies, and operational risks to appropriate personnel.
• Participate actively in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively in daily work.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance areas to support efficient operations.
• Lift, push, or pull materials and equipment as needed to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
• Work collaboratively with production and maintenance team members to minimize downtime and support operational goals.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical maintenance of industrial or manufacturing equipment.
• Hands-on experience with metal mold repair or similar small parts repair work.
• Basic fabrication and welding skills, including stick and MIG welding.
• Ability to perform cleaning and organization tasks around molds and equipment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work on feet for extended periods.
• Ability to work safely in conditions that may include dust, noise, vibration, temperature changes, and outdoor exposure.
• Willingness and ability to use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, high-visibility vests, and steel-toed shoes.
• Commitment to following all safety policies, OSHA requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Technical degree, trade school certification, or equivalent industrial maintenance training is preferred.
• Experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or facilities maintenance environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a 200,000 square foot manufacturing facility that is not climate-controlled. The environment can be dusty and dirty, with concrete being poured as trucks pull into the bays until new machines are installed. There are currently about 50 employees on the floor, with plans to grow to approximately 80 over the next three months. The organization places a strong emphasis on safety, requiring adherence to all safety policies, OSHA requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Employees must be comfortable working in conditions that may include dust, noise, vibration, temperature changes, and some outdoor exposure. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, high-visibility vests, and steel-toed shoes, is required and forms a standard part of the daily dress code

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Massillon, OH.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00/hr.
