About the Role

The Security Officer delivers a high-touch concierge-level security experience across Gap Inc.s San Francisco Headquarters. Serving as frontline ambassadors of the Global Security organization, Officers ensure a safe, welcoming, and professional environment while protecting employees, visitors, executives, Board members, contractors, and assets. This role blends premium hospitality with disciplined physical security practices, including perimeter protection, access control, emergency response, and real-time coordination with the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). Security Officers embody Gap Inc.s Safeness for All culture, maintaining strong situational awareness, technical proficiency, and customer-first engagement in a dynamic corporate environment. You will be part of a highly respected Global Security team that plays a critical role in protecting the people, products, and experiences that create our house of iconic American brands.

What Youll Do

Oversee and ensure the security of all assigned areas within the San Francisco corporate headquarters, maintaining a consistently safe and secure environment.

  • Manage building access and support an efficient flow of employees, contractors, and visitors while enforcing security and access control protocols.
  • Inspect, monitor, and maintain security compliance across entry points, lobbies, common areas, stairwells, and perimeter locations.
  • Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols to ensure perimeter integrity, identify safety hazards, and detect potential risks.
  • Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV, VMS, access control, radios, and life-safety systems.
  • Coordinate with employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors, ensuring adherence to security procedures and providing concierge-level service.
  • Issue, manage, and retrieve access credentials, including temporary badges and contractor passes.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and security incidents as the first responder, ensuring proper escalation and communication.
  • Collaborate with the GSOC and external emergency services, fire, medical, law enforcement, when incidents or emergencies require support.
  • Support the implementation and readiness of emergency procedures, including evacuations, shelter-in-place, and other life-safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate logs, documentation, and incident reports in accordance with Global Security standards.
  • Participate in ongoing security briefings, post-updates, and team trainings to maintain site readiness and awareness.
  • Conduct routine safety, security, and system inspections to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Complete required recurring training drills and online learning courses to ensure compliance with security and life-safety standards.

Who You Are

A polished, customer-focused professional who delivers white-glove service in every interaction. Highly observant, proactive, and able to identify risks before they escalate. Skilled in escalation, communication, and relationship-building across all levels of the organization. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-profile corporate environment with shifting priorities. Minimum qualifications include:

  • 3 years of security concierge or hospitality experience in a corporate or high-security environment.

  • At least 21 years of age.

  • Valid drivers license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check.

  • Must successfully complete a CritiCall computer-based assessment during the hiring process.

  • Experience with CCTV, VMS, access control platforms, radios, or other security technologies.

  • Ability to walk, stand, patrol multiple floors, and respond quickly to emergencies.

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and meet all licensing requirements.

  • Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in a Security Operations Center (GSOC) or similar role.

  • CPRAED First Aid certification and American Red Cross preferred.

  • Training in conflict resolution, de-escalation, or customer experience.

  • Experience supporting C-suite leaders, Board of Directors, or VIP clients.
