POSITION OBJECTIVE
The primary responsibility of this position is to welcome prospective students and their families to Case Western Reserve University and to facilitate the success of their visit. This position is responsible for all aspects of managing the reception area in undergraduate admission, including talking with families to answer their questions, ensuring the space is clean and inviting, and coordinating the various elements of the visit program. The student receptionist receives visitors, directs inquiries to the appropriate staff member, answering questions whenever possible.
The primary objective for all members of the admission staff is to serve prospective students and their parents efficiently and effectively, with friendliness, enthusiasm, patience and respect. All prospective students should be treated equally, without regard to race, religion, age, sex, color, disability, sexual orientation, or national or ethnic origin.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Greet and welcome prospective students and their families during their visits to campus. Receive visitors with warmth and energy, and ensure that a favorable first impression of CWRU is created, improving the likelihood that a student will be interested in pursuing enrollment at the University.
Manage and maintain the reception and waiting areas, and other public spaces, to be sure the atmosphere is welcoming and inviting. Keep the area neat and free of clutter, including the reception desk and the coffee service area. Restock office and coffee service supplies as necessary.
Exhibit excellent customer service skills. Offer assistance as needed to all prospective students and their families. Help to ensure all visitors have a quality experience from the moment they interact with the Undergraduate Admission office.
Data-enter information about the students' visits on the same day as the visit. Confirm the students' visit, record the date, and record the visit.
Serve as a resource to families, answering questions about the student experience, admission process (as appropriate) and other topics.
Ensure that recruitment materials, refreshments, and other items to assist with a quality visit experience (umbrellas, ponchos, etc) are stocked and made available for visitor use.
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide general support and assistance to application processing as needed.
Assist with prep of campus open houses.
Assist the appropriate staff responsible for building maintenance by reporting any needed repairs, cleaning, and adjustment to the heating and cooling systems in the Mandel Center.
Perform other duties as assigned.
CONTACTS

University: Limited contact with other university employees, including coaches, faculty, and other individuals with whom prospective students meet during their visit
External: Daily contact with prospective first-year and transfer students, their parents and guidance counselors.
Students: Daily contact with student tour guides and office workers.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Office setting. Business dress required. Limited need to move crates of mail within the office.

Experience with front-line customer service.
Strong aptitude to work as part of a team.
Cheerful and service-oriented disposition.
Comfortable with Google suite.
Pay: $13.44/hour
