Position Purpose: 

 

Physical Requirements: Stand or Sit(Stationary position), Walk(Move, Traverse), Use hand/fingers to handle or feel (Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, Position), Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance (Ascend/Descend, Work atop, Traverse), Stoop, kneel, crouch, or Crawl(Position self(to), Move), Talk/hear(Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information), See (Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess), Pushing or Pulling, Reaching, Repetitive Motion Function in the Job: Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Job Function:

1. Read and interpret blue prints with minimal supervision; including weld symbols.
2. Produce welds on various thicknesses of material.
3. Set up welding machine and place welds in a manner that produces the least amount of spatter.
4. Produce welds that are satisfactory in visual appearance and strength with no defects.
5. Minimize Quality defects and avoid duplication of errors and defects.
6. Utilize MIG process to weld.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills:

• 1 year of experience as a welder is preferred.
• Must have general knowledge of weld fixtures and how they operate.  
• Able to use both metric and standard systems.
• Must be team oriented.
• Must be able to read prints (CAD a plus).
• Able to use all related hardware and software.
• Must be able to work from written or verbal instructions.
