Description: Location: Aurora, IL Job: Welder Payrate: $21 Hours: Monday thru Thursday 7am-5:30pm ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Applies welding knowledge and skills to fabricate products. Completes work orders based on production goals. Utilizes analytical skills to determine the most efficient and effective tools and methods to apply to work. Takes precise measurements to ensure fit of product components. Maintains equipment in good working condition and conducts regular maintenance on equipment. This may include but is not limited to switching out filler wire, maintaining wire speed and voltage accuracy, and cleaning used equipment. Reports any issues, malfunctions, or defects related to parts, machinery, and work orders. Reads blueprints Adheres to quality standards as set forth by operations. Performs quality analysis of completed work and escalates concerns to supervisor. Communicates with colleagues appropriately to ensure standard operating procedures are being appropriately followed. Follows safety standards as set forth by operating procedures. Interacts with heavy machinery on an as-needed basis. PPE: Wears mandatory safety gear. This includes a welding mask, welding gloves, a welding jacket, safety glasses when not welding, and a safety vest when not welding. Steel toed shoes required QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent certificate preferred Ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions and follow established procedures Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Understand basic math including fractions, percentages, addition, subtraction, etc. PREFERRED SKILLS Welding education (certificate or course) Professional welding experience (MIG) Associate can report any hazards and concerns to the Illinois Department of Labor by call the Department s Day and Temporary Labor Services Act toll-free hotline at 1-877-314-7052 or email at DOL.DayLabor@illinois.gov Total Staffing and QFS does not provide any transportation resources or meals for our associates during any assignments.
