Welder

Job Summary

Responsible for welding components in a heavy manufacturing environment, operating welding equipment, performing quality checks, and following production work orders and safety procedures.

Essential Functions

• Operate welding systems and make adjustments as needed.
• Operate plasma cutters, overhead hoists, cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
• Client out, position, and tack-weld components prior to final welding.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Meet established production and quality standards.
• Perform quality inspections using basic measuring equipment.
• Accurately complete work orders, QAD reports, Kanban cards, and other required documentation.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and follow all safety and quality procedures.
• Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must successfully pass the required weld test.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, including geometric tolerancing.
• Basic computer skills.
• Self-motivated with strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work overtime or outside regular hours as needed.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, balance, grasp, climb, squat, and kneel.
• Regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Work in a loud industrial environment with frequent exposure to manufacturing-related atmospheric conditions.
• Follow all required PPE, safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
