Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented MIG/TIG Welder to join a manufacturing team in Harlan, IA. This position involves welding, assembling, and repairing metal components using MIG, TIG, and other welding equipment while ensuring finished products meet quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on MIG and TIG welding experience, including TIG welding aluminum and stainless steel, along with the ability to read blueprints and work independently in a fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on fabricated metal components, including aluminum and stainless steel.

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate fabrication.

• Client out, position, align, and fit metal components for welding and assembly.

• Operate welding equipment, torches, grinders, and other hand and power tools.

• Perform cutting and fabrication using plasma arc and oxy-acetylene equipment.

• Tack-weld, clamp, bolt, and assemble metal parts according to specifications.

• Inspect completed welds and finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.

• Repair and rework metal components by cutting, reshaping, and reassembling as needed.

• Maintain welding equipment and keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.

• Follow established safety procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of MIG and TIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.

• Aluminum and stainless steel TIG welding experience required.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints required.

• Experience using welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality welds.

• Basic math and measurement skills.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.

• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Preferred, But Not Required:

• Welding certification or technical school training.

• Experience with plasma cutting and oxy-acetylene equipment.

• Experience with metal fabrication, fitting, and assembly.

• Familiarity with welding inspection and quality control procedures.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in various welding positions throughout the workday.

• Ability to lift, move, and handle metal materials and fabricated components as required.

• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision welding.

• Comfortable working around welding equipment, moving machinery, and fabrication tools.

• Manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to welding fumes and airborne particles.

• Ability to follow all workplace safety procedures and properly use protective equipment.
