    Description

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welding Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in structural welding, pipe welding, brazing, and soldering, along with a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certificate. As a Welding Instructor, you will be responsible for imparting practical knowledge and hands-on skills to our students, preparing them for successful careers in the welding industry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Deliver comprehensive welding courses covering structural welding, pipe welding, brazing, and soldering techniques. Act as a subject matter expert for instructional designers and content creators.

    • Experience with Instructional Design and content creation is a plus.

    • Provide practical demonstrations and hands-on training sessions to students, ensuring they develop proficiency in various welding processes.

    • Participate as an instructor for Boot Camps and New Hire Orientation as needed.

    • Emphasize and enforce safety protocols and procedures in all welding activities, maintaining a safe learning environment for students and staff.

    • Collaborate with the education team to develop and enhance welding curriculum, incorporating industry best practices and emerging technologies.

    • Evaluate student progress through practical assessments, written exams, and performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback for improvement. Keep Workday LMS transcripts up-to-date by tracking student progress daily.

    • Support a team of mentors who will provide on the job instruction for students going through the welding program.

    • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in proper working condition for training purposes.

    • Stay updated with advancements in welding technologies, techniques, and safety standards, participating in professional development activities as needed.

    • Provide mentorship and guidance to students, offering assistance with career planning and in-house certification exams.

    • Other duties related to training and training administrative tasks as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in structural welding, pipe welding, brazing, and soldering in a professional setting.

    • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required. 

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training in welding education preferred.

    • Attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to students of varying skill levels.

    • Comfortable with Microsoft and Google Suite applications, and Learning Management Software.

    • Proven ability to teach and mentor individuals in a classroom and hands-on setting, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. Preferably 3 or more years of instruction experience.

    • Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures, with a focus on instilling safe work habits in students and proper use of PPE.

    • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and industry partners in a dynamic educational environment.

    • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and student needs, with a willingness to continuously improve teaching methods and curriculum.
