Emory University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry Division of Women's Mental Health is seeking a full time psychiatrist with expertise in perinatal and reproductive mental health. While fellowship training is not required, the candidate must have exceptional knowledge of the nuances of managing psychiatric conditions, whether pre-existing or developing during pregnancy and postpartum.

Full time outpatient clinic, telehealth optional

Duties would include psychopharmacologic management of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, as well as other reproductive health concerns including:

Perinatal depression
Postpartum anxiety and OCD
Childbirth related PTSD
Postpartum psychosis and mania

Premenstrual dysphoria
Perimenopausal mood and anxiety symptoms

Distress related to infertility and pregnancy loss
        
Preconception counseling for management of psychotropic medications in preparation for pregnancy

Psychiatric aspects of sexual health and wellness    

In addition, the candidate would need to manage ongoing psychiatric and mental health diagnosis during pregnancy, breast feeding and postpartum, with a clear idea of how to account for physiologic changes in pregnancy and the puerperium.

This position would include some teaching duties including supervision of PGY2 and PGY4 residents participating in Women's Mental Health electives and medical students on their psychiatry clerkship or WMH elective.

 

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
