Working Title Work-Study- Children's Center Helper Position Status Part Time Department School of Liberal Arts and Education General Summary

The Work-Study Student Helper provides support to the Odessa College Children's Center staff in creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for children. This position assists with daily classroom and center activities while gaining valuable experience working with children and supporting early childhood development.

Specific Position Duties

• Assist Children's Center staff with daily activities and classroom routines.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom and play environment.
• Assist with setting up and cleaning up classroom materials, activities, and play areas.
• Interact with children in a positive, respectful, and age-appropriate manner.
• Assist with supervising children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and other scheduled activities.
• Support teachers and staff with preparing materials and activities.
• Follow all Children's Center policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and center operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be an actively enrolled Odessa College student and eligible for Federal Work-Study.
• Must be dependable, responsible, and able to work well with children and staff.
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a professional and positive attitude.
• Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications Annual Salary Hiring Range Work Hours
