Position Description & Details

Are you looking for a flexible on-campus job that fits your class schedule? Join the Bismarck State College Dining Services team and gain valuable hands-on experience while helping create exceptional dining and catering experiences for the campus and community.

What Youll Do

You will assist the Bismarck State College catering department with the food service process at the Mystic Marketplace and catering events on campus

Hourly Rate: $16.00/hour

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assists with routine food preparation and serving, setting up catering events/ meeting with meals/ banquets. (i.e., preparing salads, making sandwiches, etc.) as needed.
  • Assists with catering preparation and setup.
  • Assists in the production of Grab N Go grocery meals and stocking as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining the dishwasher and the dish return area.
  • Operates the cash register to record the sale of food items.
  • Operates various kitchen equipment and cleaning equipment.
  • Assists with cleaning and sanitizing the work area.
  • Assists with the arranging and cleaning of dining tables.
  • Assists in the preparation and setup for banquets, special dinners, or events.
  • Maintains required safety and health standards.
  • Supports innovation, creativity, and ideas to improve/enhance processes, functions, etc. in the department and as a whole for the college.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a Bismarck State College student, enrolled in a minimum of six credits.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Food service experience
