Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Worker's Compensation Specialist for a contract/temporary opportunity in Sunnyvale, CA within the government and public sector. This role is well suited for a Human Resources professional with strong workers' compensation claims experience, leave administration knowledge, and the ability to coordinate effectively with employees, managers, attorneys, third-party administrators, and internal stakeholders.

The Worker's Compensation Specialist will help ensure claims are handled accurately, employees are supported through the process, and HR programs remain aligned with applicable requirements. Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the development, coordination, and administration of the workers' compensation program, including claims review, case coordination, and program support.
- Interpret and apply laws, policies, procedures, and best practices to support effective workers' compensation claims processing and compliance.
- Serve as a liaison between injured workers, departments, third-party administrators, attorneys, managers, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in claims investigations, coordinate case management activities, and support the interactive process with injured employees.
- Administer FMLA, CFRA, short-term disability, and long-term disability programs while ensuring legal and procedural compliance.
- Prepare reports, analyze HR data, support safety-related initiatives, and assist with administrative projects related to personnel programs.

- Pay range: $52 to $67 per hour.
