Our growing law firm is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney with 1–3 years of experience to join our Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to grow their career in a supportive, team-oriented environment while gaining hands-on litigation experience.
This position is primarily in-office, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule after onboarding and training.
Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of California workers' compensation defense matters.
Represent employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators throughout the litigation process.
Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
Prepare pleadings, motions, legal correspondence, and other case-related documents.
Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
Negotiate settlements and work closely with clients to provide case updates and legal guidance.
Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active California Bar license and in good standing.
1–3 years of California workers' compensation defense experience required.
Strong legal writing, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive, client-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
