Job Description
- Manage a full caseload of California workers' compensation defense matters from start to finish.
- Prepare discovery, motions, pleadings, settlements, and other litigation-related documents.
- Handle appearances, hearings, depositions, and other proceedings as needed.
- Manage cases on appeal and work within applicable judicial and procedural requirements.
- Communicate regularly with assigned clients and provide timely case updates and strategic guidance.
- Prepare, organize, maintain, and retrieve case files, evidence, exhibits, pleadings, depositions, and related materials.
- Develop case strategy and keep files moving efficiently toward resolution.
- Analyze claims, identify risks and opportunities, and pursue effective defense strategies.
- Deliver responsive, professional client service while managing competing deadlines and priorities.
Qualifications
- Active California Bar license in good standing.
- 1+ year of California workers' compensation defense experience.
- Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation law and litigation procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization, time management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload independently and meet deadlines.
- Insurance claims or subrogation experience is a plus.
