Our client is currently seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner to join their team handling New Jersey claims. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity ideal for a professional with a strong background in workers’ compensation who is comfortable managing moderate to complex claims in a fast-paced environment. This person will have the ability to work remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and evaluate workers’ compensation claims from initial report through resolution
Investigate claims, determine compensability, and establish appropriate reserves
Negotiate settlements and authorize payments within delegated authority
Ensure compliance with New Jersey workers’ compensation laws and internal guidelines
Communicate effectively with injured workers, employers, medical providers, and legal counsel
Maintain accurate and detailed claim documentation and provide regular status updates
Coordinate with defense counsel and attend hearings, mediations, or depositions as needed
Qualifications:
3 – 5+ years of experience handling New Jersey Workers’ Compensation claims
Prior experience with an Insurance Carrier or TPA required
Active New Jersey Adjuster License preferred
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, or related field preferred
Salary / Benefits:
$35.00 - $45.00 per hour (based on experience) with opportunity for permanent conversion
