The Workforce Development Technical Specialist serves a critical role to the mission of Louisiana Works. This highly technical and specialized position involves the monitoring of an assigned program areas including tracking, reporting, and analyzing activities.

The Office of Workforce Development (OWD) is a key division of Louisiana Works managing programs in workforce training, job placement, apprenticeships, and business engagement. Through collaboration with local boards, educational institutions, and industry partners, OWD aims to improve economic mobility for job seekers and ensure Louisiana employers have the skilled talent they need, contributing to the state's economic growth.

Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS) assists persons with disabilities in their desire to obtain, maintain, or advance in competitive integrated employment and achieve independence in their communities by providing rehabilitation services and working cooperatively with businesses and other community resources.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:

Minimum Qualifications

Six years of experience in workforce development, administrative services, or social services; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of experience in workforce development, administrative services, or social services; OR

A bachelors degree plus three years of experience in workforce development, administrative services, or social services; OR

A masters degree plus two years of experience in workforce development, administrative services, or social services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Assist in developing standardized processes that lead toward continuous performance improvement and work with state merit supervisorial leadership in developing training and technical assistance models that are tailored to individual and specific shortfalls determined during the monitoring process.
  • Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programs.
  • Analyze information to develop solutions based on data/information/solutions/processes.
  • Develop long-range plans, strategies and objectives for the program's information processing activities, reporting, tracking, and data integration.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and delivers reports to local, state and federal government entities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, Travel maybe required
