Workshop Technician (Open to Entry-Level Candidates)

Summary:

A marine engine manufacturing and service company is seeking an entry‑level Shop Technician to support component cleaning, sandblasting, and mechanical preparation work in a fast‑paced workshop environment. This role will primarily be responsible for cleaning, prepping, and sandblasting engine components using grinders, air tools, and industrial washing equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for mechanically inclined individuals who want to begin a long‑term career path leading to advanced mechanic roles.

Responsibilities:
* Clean, wash, and prep mechanical components (including cylinder heads, valves, and related engine parts).
* Perform sandblasting of components such as valves and cylinder heads using shop-grade blasting equipment.
* Use power tools, including electric grinders (approx. 4.5"), die grinders, and air tools for surface prep.
* Operate industrial washing machines and pneumatic tools.
* Support general workshop tasks, including staging components, organizing parts, and maintaining cleanliness.
* Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area.
* Manually lifting and moving boxes (5lbs - 40lbs)

Qualifications:

* Experience using grinders and air tools.
* Mechanically inclined with interest in developing into a Diesel mechanic long-term.
* Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
* Valid drivers license
* Reliable, safety‑conscious, and able to perform physical labor.
* Team player with good communication skills.
