Underthesupervisionofaphysician,theAdvancedRegisteredNursePractitioner(ARNP)isresponsiblefor providing high quality wound care services for patients residing in all levels of care and may include responsibilities staffing outpatient wound care clinics, hospital-based settings, and home visits.
The Nurse Practitioner provides leadership by serving as clinical expert, educator and liaison between the patientandthemedical,nursing,andinterdisciplinarystaffwiththegoalofwoundhealingandimprovedpatient outcomes
JobResponsibilitiesandDuties
- Mustbedependableandkeepscheduledappointmentsinfacilitiesasassigned.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill in assessment and performing local wound care including debridementtechniques,cleansing,dressings,pressurerelief,paincontrolandodorcontrolinnursing facility or clinic settings.
- Abilitytoevaluate,recommend,andfacilitatetheneedforDME(DurableMedicalEquipment)for patients with debility and rehabilitation needs.
- Understandingandapplicationofcurrentinfectioncontroltechniques,woundcaresuppliesand treatment protocols.
- Maintainsaccurateandtimelydocumentationofpatientencountersinelectronicmedicalrecord.
- Analytical ability and clinical knowledge necessary to make recommendations concerning the developmentandmanagementofdepartmentalprograms,policies,goals,andstaffingneedsasit relates to wound care.

Qualifications
- Master'sdegreeorhigher;Woundcareexperiencepreferredbutnotmandatory.
- GraduateofanapprovedschoolofnursingwithacurrentunencumberedRegisteredNurselicense
- Minimumof1yearofclinicalexperienceinpatientcareenvironmentwithdirectwoundandostomy assessment and treatment skills preferred.
- Completionoractiveenrollment inawoundcertificationprogram,i.e., AmericanAcademyofWound Management (CWS), Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN), Wound Care Education Institute(WCC),orequivalentprogrampreferred.Candidateswillbeencouragedtocompleteoneof aforementioned programs when eligible after employment.
