Operate yard tractors and trucks within parking, yard, and docking areas to move, position, and park trailers in support of shipping and receiving operations. Transport equipment for service or repair as needed while following all safety, quality, and DOT requirements. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly yard environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Move trailers based on operational priorities to support plant efficiency and production needs
Hook, unhook, and shuttle trailers to docks, yard locations, and service departments
Spot loaded and empty trailers at assigned dock doors for loading and unloading
Connect loaded trailers to tractors for route and OTR drivers
Maintain accurate trailer movement and inventory logs
Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and report equipment issues
Perform preventive maintenance checks in the yard area
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
Wash tractors and trailers as required for the location
Comply with all DFA Quality, Safety, DOT, and GMP policies
Attend required driver training and workshops
