Olive is seeking a hands-on Yard Manager to oversee daily yard operations, equipment organization, fleet readiness, and safe movement of heavy equipment and materials. This individual will coordinate with dispatch, drivers, and operations personnel to ensure equipment is maintained, organized, and ready for deployment. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy transport, crane and rigging, or heavy equipment operations, with a CDL and crane certification highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily yard operations, including organization, maintenance, and movement of trucks, trailers, cranes, rigging equipment, and materials.
- Coordinate equipment loading, unloading, staging, and mobilization with dispatch and operations teams.
- Monitor equipment readiness, inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
- Maintain inventory of equipment, tools, rigging supplies, and materials.
- Assist with operating trucks, cranes, forklifts, and heavy equipment when properly licensed or certified.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, load securement, and company safety standards.
- Direct yard personnel, coordinate daily priorities, and communicate operational needs to management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient yard environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in yard operations, heavy transport, crane and rigging, construction, or heavy equipment operations.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment handling, loading, unloading, and transportation logistics.
- CDL Class A and crane operator certification (NCCCO/CCO or equivalent) highly preferred.
- Experience with heavy haul trucks, specialized trailers, cranes, and rigging equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and equipment safety procedures.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
- Ability to work independently and outdoors in an industrial yard environment.
