    Job Description

    Primary Purpose

    Assist Transportation personnel with yard operations ensuring vehicles are ready for service and in the proper locations. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Certification/Licensure

    • High School diploma or GED

    • Valid Texas commercial driver's license (Class A or B) or ability to obtain within six months of hire.

    • Good driving record

    Special Knowledge/Skills

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability

    • Ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions Must be cooperative and show initiative towards improving skills Ability to work productively with minimal supervision

    • Basic computer skills needed for data entry into maintenance systems

    Experience

    • Minimum 1 year experience in fleet service field

    Major Responsibilities and Duties

    • Responsible for ensuring buses assigned for trips are prepared and in working order.
    • Assist shop with hood checks and inspections when other tasks are complete.
    • Fuel and stage vehicles for trips or route operations.
    • Conduct pre trip and post trip inspections of vehicles operated.
    • Report all accidents, vehicle damage and mechanical failures according to district policies and procedures.
    • Check vehicles for mechanical defects and notify supervisor of needed repairs.
    • Ensure buses are clean and operational prior to use.
    • Assist with minor maintenance repairs in shop as needed.
    • Assist in shuttling equipment and vehicles between multiple maintenance locations.
    • Ability to operate all makes, models and types of units operated by CCISD Transportation.
    • Check buses in and out for trips inspecting for cleanliness and damage.
    • Maintains a safe, clean productive and efficient work
    • Record time spent, parts used, and repairs on the appropriate
    • Immediately brings unsafe practice or conditions to the attention of transportation administration.
    • Ensures compliance of work and work area with appropriate state and federal regulations regarding equipment and equipment maintenance.

    • Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
    • Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
    • Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e., email, written, and verbal).
    • Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.

    • Moderate walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, reaching; heavy lifting and carrying.

    Working outside and inside; exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes; working around moving objects and machinery with moving parts; work various changing shifts or extended hours based on district needs.
