    Job Title: Yard Associate (Omaha)
    Location: Omaha, NE
    Reports To: Yard Supervisor
    Pay Range: $19.00 - $20.00 hrly, depending on experience
    Schedule: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 40 hours per week, including a Saturday rotation
     
    About the Role
    We are looking for a reliable and safety-minded Yard Associate to join our Omaha team. This full-time, hands-on role fills customer and contractor orders from our yard and keeps yard inventory accurate, organized, and safely stored. You will operate forklifts, load material, and help keep the yard running smoothly for our customers and crews.
     
    Purpose & Expectations
    The Yard Associate is responsible for serving customers by filling orders accurately and maintaining yard inventory through receiving, staging, loading, and organizing material. This position requires attention to detail, safe equipment operation, and the ability to work outdoors year-round.
     
    Key Responsibilities
     
    Customer Service & Order Fulfillment
    • Assist customers picking up material in the yard and serve them promptly.
    • Load customer and contractor vehicles, and stage material for scheduled deliveries and pickups.
    • Verify that material loaded matches the order in quantity, condition, and accuracy.
     
    Receiving & Inventory Control
    • Receive inbound material, verify it against shipping documents, and report shortages or damage.
    • Separate sold material from stock, tag incoming products, and direct them to their assigned locations.
    • Restock and organize yard inventory for accessibility and efficient use of space.
    • Support inventory counts, audits, returns, and material reconciliation.
     
    Yard & Equipment Maintenance
    • Keep yard areas, aisles, and storage racks clean, orderly, and safe.
    • Maintain and properly store yard tools.
     
    Safety & Equipment Operation
    • Complete company forklift certification and operate only the equipment you are certified on.
    • Report damaged material, improper loading practices, and equipment defects promptly.
     
    Records & General Duties
    • Complete receiving, material handling, and inventory documentation.
    • Keep the Yard Supervisor informed of anything affecting safety, inventory, scheduling, or customer satisfaction.
    • Attend all scheduled or requested meetings and required training.
    • Perform any other related duties as assigned by management.
     
    Qualifications
    • Previous yard, warehouse, or building material experience preferred.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 80 lbs occasionally.
    • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions year-round.
    • Ability to read and verify orders and delivery and receiving paperwork accurately.
    • Availability to work a Saturday rotation.
    • Strong attention to detail and a safety-first, team-oriented mindset.
