    Job Title: Part-Time Youth Development Professional 
    Reports To: Program Director / Unit Director 
    Location: TBD 
    Status: Part-Time 20 hours/week 
    Pay Rate: $16.00-18.00 Hourly 

    Position Summary 

    The Youth Development Professional (YDP) is responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising programs and activities for youth ages 6–18 in a safe, fun, and engaging environment. The YDP promotes positive youth development and helps members build the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to reach their full potential. 

    Key Responsibilities 

    Create and implement age-appropriate programs in one or more core program areas (e.g., Education, Arts, Sports, STEM, Leadership). 

    Engage members in daily activities that promote a positive Club climate and support the Boys & Girls Clubs’ mission. 

    Provide guidance and discipline to ensure a safe and respectful environment. 

    Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and participation. 

    Establish rapport with youth and serve as a role model and mentor. 

    Maintain accurate records including attendance, incidents, and program outcomes. 

    Support special events, field trips, and Club-wide initiatives as needed. 

    Assist in maintaining a clean and organized program space. 

    Communicate with parents, school staff, and other stakeholders as appropriate. 

    Comply with all BGCCNM and ECECD Safety Policies and Regulations  

    Qualifications 

    Minimum age: 18 years old 

    High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred (especially in education, child development, social work, or related fields) 

    Experience working with youth (after-school programs, summer camps, tutoring, coaching, etc.) 

    Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills 

    Ability to maintain a professional, positive attitude and lead by example 

    CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) 

    Ability to pass background checks and meet organizational and state requirements 

    Work Environment 

    Active indoor and outdoor environment 

    May require lifting up to 25 lbs 

    Must be available for before and after-school hours depending on site hours and some weekends or evenings
