SCHEDULE Tues - Friday, 12pm - 9pm Saturday 4 hour shift (TBD based on activity planned)
WAGE $20 per hour

The Youth Recreation Coordinator oversees the activities component of Youth Mentors. They oversee and provide direction for safe and therapeutic recreation activities for youth. They ensure the recreational experience compliments therapeutic goals and contributes to improved self-esteem. This position is responsible for providing recreational opportunities both indoors and outdoors, as applicable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS · Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire. · Must possess a valid state issued license. · Have one year of experience working directly with children. Two years of social services education may be substituted for the required experience · Able to pass required Background Checks. · Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to provide verification. · Able to complete and maintain all training requirements per agency policy and procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Paid experience working with children and/or youth in a group treatment orientation. Possess the skills and ability to work independently with the special needs of children in care. Demonstrate effective communication and problem solving skills. Bachelors degree, preferably in Recreation or Social Work related field (preferred but not required)
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization. Ability to learn and operate required agency software and technology.
