KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS\n \nJob Description \n \nJob Title: Lifeguard\n \nJob Title Code: 02316\n \nSalary Grade: $2,500/season \n \nDepartment: Athletics \n \nReports To: IL Swim Director \n \nFLSA Status: non-exempt\n \nPURPOSE OF JOB: Ensure student-athletes safety by actively scanning the pool, enforcing rules, and responding instantly to emergencies using CPR/First Aid.\n \nWhat You'll Be Doing: (Responsibilities)\n\n Maintain constant, active, and focused surveillance of the swimming area to spot hazards or distressed swimmers\n Consistently and professionally enforce facility policies to prevent accidents.\n Help provide information for transportation, facilities, officials and game management.\n \nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Student-athletes\n \nTo Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To: (Qualifications)\n\n Must have a Teachers Certificate or valid Substitute Certificate or Temporary (provisional) Teacher's Certificate.\n Current American Red Cross (or equivalent, such as YMCA or Ellis) Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications.\n \nIn Order to #LevelUp in This Role, You'll Need: (Preferred Qualifications)\n\n Be a full or part-time employee in the district.\n
