Assists the department leaders in shaping and implementing inventory controls including assistance in developing par levels for inventory, monitoring usage, determining the typer of equipment needed, maintaining and assessing new technology, interfacing with multiple disciplines within the hospital for inventory management, working with physicians to select/maintain appropriate inventories, assisting with information gathering for negotiations in vendor contracting, monitoring vendor contracts to ensure quotas are met, and mangaging government regulated tracking items. *Develops an in-depth knowledge of current equipment used in the Invasive Cardiology and Surgical Services departments; communicates knowledge to staff and physicians about product lines.
