p>Under general supervision, incumbents, in addition to performing the full range of duties described in the series concept, perform minor repairs to leaking faucets, plugged drains or faulty toilets; repair and service custodial equipment such as buffers and vacuum cleaners; perform touch-up to existing paint; may remove snow from walkways, driveways or parking lots; and ensure security systems are functioning properly and report security deficiencies. Priorities for a custodial workers include, but are not limited to the following; clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and other facilities, vacuum, sweep, and mop floors, dust and wipe down surfaces, empty trash and recycling bins, refill restroom and cleaning supplies, report any maintenance or safety issues to supervisor, perform routine cleaning tasks on a regular schedule, and assists with setting up for events or special projects.
