The Switcher safely moves trailers to and from the warehouse dock to yard locations in a timely and professional manner with daily reports.We are hiring switchers for all shifts including multiple start times available, please see below:<ul><li>1st shift ($22/hr.): <ul><li>6:00 a.m. -2:30 p.m. </li><li>8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. </li></ul></li><li>2nd shift ($22/hr.):<ul><li>5:00 p.m. -1:30 a.m.</li><li>6:00 p.m.- 2:30 a.m.</li></ul></li><li>3rd shift ($24/hr.):<ul><li>10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.</li><li>10:00 p.m.- 6:30 a.m.</li><li>12:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.</li></ul></li></ul>Job Description:<ul><li>Safely operate switcher trucks to move trailers within the facility.</li><li>Coordinate with dispatch and yard personnel to prioritize trailer movements.</li><li>Inspect trailers for damage and report any issues to maintenance.</li><li>Maneuver trailers into loading docks for loading and unloading.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and locations.</li><li>Communicate effectively with other drivers and yard personnel.</li><li>Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic regulations.</li><li>Assist with yard organization and cleanliness as needed.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Class A CDL. 1 Year experience</li><li>Safe driving record (MVR, CSA, and previous employment).</li><li>Ability to pass DOT pre-employment drug screening and meet DOT medical requirements.</li><li>Experience operating switcher trucks or similar equipment preferred.</li><li>Current DOT physical.</li><li>Familiarity with transportation and logistics operations.</li><li>Ability to lift 50lbs.</li><li>Ability to operate vehicles safely in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.</li><li>Attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures.</li><li>Physical stamina for prolonged periods of sitting and operating vehicles.</li></ul>Physical Demands:<ul><li>Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and feet to operate vehicles, adjust controls, and manage equipment.</li><li>Heavy Lifting: Occasional lifting, carrying, and securing of cargo, which may exceed 50 pounds.</li><li>Navigation and Attention: Continuous focus on driving and navigation, requiring high levels of concentration and situational awareness.</li><li>Variable Work Hours: Potential for irregular hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and overnight trips.</li><li>Exposure to Weather: Work involves exposure to various weather conditions during loading and unloading operations.</li><li>Climbing and Balancing: Climbing into and out of the truck cab and trailer, as well as balancing to secure cargo.</li><li>Health and Safety Compliance: Adherence to safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment as necessary.</li></ul>EEO Statement:NRS is an equal opportunity employer.
