Typical M&TE includes, but is not limited to: alignment telescopes, autocollimators, theodolites, dial and digital calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, dial indicators, bore gages, plug gages, optical flats, surface plates, hardness testing machines, thread gages, torque wrenches and v block sets. A minimum of six months military metrology school or equivalent, plus two years working experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical and dimensional measuring and test equipment can substitute for certification.
