Specific key initiatives that the Program Director will support are: (1) management and oversight of research operations including interdigitation with central grants administration, contractual agreements, and financial oversight; (2) supporting the recruitment and onboarding of new faculty and staff and management of biostatistical and research staff groups; (3) strategy, direction, and programmatic support for academic initiatives to facilitate the continued growth of the research program, including the promotion and expansion of philanthropic and grant base, and coordination of academic programs such as research seminars, pilot grants, and the career mentorship program. The position partners with the Director of Research, Chief of Cardiology, BIDMC Research Administration, individual Principal Investigators, and a small team of Research Program Coordinators and Administrators to optimize research operations, assist in management of research personnel, and develop strategic initiatives including training and career development within the CVI.
