College hours, related business school, or vocational training can substitute for the routine office work/clerical experience through an established formula as per the chart below: 90 clock hours = One (1) month of experience 1080 clock hours = One (1) year of experience Every thirty (30) undergraduate semester hours = One (1) year of experience Associate Degree = Two (2) years of experience Bachelors Degree = Four (4) years of experience Every fifteen (15) graduate semester hours = One (1) year of experience Masters Degree = Two (2) years of experience Juris Doctor = Three (3) years of experience Doctorate/PhD = Four (4) years of experience Please note: All college, university or vocational school education, licensure or certification must be verified by attaching a copy of an official transcript, license, or certificate to your online application or by emailing it to the West Virginia Division of Personnel at: applicantservices@wv.gov Job duty descriptions of all experience MUST be included in the Work History section of your online application or be clearly stated on your attached resumé in order for them to be considered as qualifying experience toward the minimum qualifications. Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing full-performance clerical duties (this means multiple-step clerical tasks calling for interpretation and application of office procedures, rules and regulations) which MUST HAVE INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING DUTIES: screening and routing telephone calls and typing routine correspondence (includes typing emails, letters, memos, etc.) Substitution: College hours or related business school or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula (shown below) for up to two (2) years of the required experience.
