Skills and procedures include trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, Glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, drips titrated for HR but not BP, IV insertion and care, central line management, wound care, post-op monitoring, cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation, and discharge planning/patient education on renal and fluid management. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Phillips monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, portable vital sign monitors (Dynamapp), bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, external fixators, chest tubes, JP drains, Hemovac drains, Glucommander, PCA pain management, and suction machines.
