Perform scheduled, preventive, and emergency maintenance on locomotives, including Gen-Set, SW, and GP models• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues• Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine appropriate repair solutions• Travel throughout the region to perform locomotive maintenance and repairs• Communicate with customers regarding equipment status, upcoming repairs, and maintenance priorities• Perform equipment inspections and identify mechanical, electrical, and safety concerns• Maintain accurate preventive maintenance checklists, invoices, shipping documents, expense reports, and other required records• Safely handle and dispose of oil, diesel fuel, filters, and other maintenance materials• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, welding equipment, and other maintenance equipment• Conduct periodic equipment safety assessments• Recommend corrective actions when equipment or safety concerns are identified• Follow company and customer safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment• Perform additional duties as assigned. • Strong mechanical experience and hands-on troubleshooting ability• Locomotive, diesel, heavy equipment, industrial, or similar mechanical experience preferred• Electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus• Associate degree or technical training in a mechanical field preferred; equivalent work experience will also be considered• Valid driver's license required• Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the region• Ability to safely operate a cutting torch and electrical welder• Ability to understand and follow written instructions, maintenance procedures, and technical information• Strong communication and customer service skills• Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting.
