<h5>Teacher (Art Education 9-12.40000 FTE) </h5>The Teacher understands the central concepts, methods of inquiry, and structures of disciplines and creates learning experiences that make the content meaningful to all students. Supervisory responsibilities: None Duties and responsibilities include: <ul><li>Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences </li><li>Engage students in an inquiry-based delivery model of instruction </li><li>Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities </li><li>Use a wide range of instructional strategies and technologies to meet and enhance the needs of a diverse student population </li><li>Consider equitable resources and equitable instructional practices to meet the needs of a diverse student population </li><li>Update and maintain all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law, district policies and school regulations </li><li>Create and maintain a safe learning environment for all students </li><li>Demonstrate a variety of effective behavior management techniques appropriate to the needs of all students, including those with disabilities </li><li>Maintain discipline in accordance with building expectations as well as the district's student code of conduct </li><li>Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs </li><li>Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) </li><li>Create formative assessments aligned to district curriculum </li><li>Analyze student data from both formative and summative assessments to drive differentiated instruction and data-based decision making for students </li><li>Utilize current technology to enhance student learning </li></ul>Qualifications: <ul><li>Illinois Teaching License with appropriate endorsements and certifications </li></ul>Knowledge, skills and abilities: <ul><li>Ability to demonstrate qualities aligned to our core values of Character, Communication, Collaboration and Continuous Improvement </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate with all school stakeholders </li><li>Ability to develop relationships with students and parents </li><li>Knowledge of various instructional strategies and techniques </li><li>Knowledge of best teaching and assessing practices </li><li>Working knowledge of State and National Standards </li><li>Ability to organize and maintain student records which includes gradebooks </li></ul>A comprehensive benefits package including: Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance Voluntary life insurance Paid Sick and Personal time Paid holidays Board-paid TRS (Teachers' Retirement System) Optional 403(b) plan Employee assistance program (EAP) Working conditions: Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel.
