Job Requirements: • High school diploma or GED equivalent required, MARTCP Asphalt Field Technician Certification OR VDOT Field Level II Certification• U.S. DOT Radiation HAZMAT Certification• 1-3 years of laboratory experience (industry experience preferred),• Valid Drivers License with a satisfactory driving record,• Must be 18 years or older,• Valid Drivers License, Experience with various hot mix asphalt and aggregate lab equipment, such as gyratory compactors, sieves and ignition furnace,• Well-established organizational skills with strong attention to detail,• Experience using thin lift nuclear asphalt density gauge and coring rig• Solid math and reading skills, with the ability to understand technical manuals,• Excellent verbal and written communication skills,• Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel, Working Conditions: May require standing for extended periods,• Prolonged exposure to the elements,• Ability to kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials,• Laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals and laboratory equipment,• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time,• This job requires the ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction tools (glasses, contacts),• Climbing stairs daily to get to workstation,• Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening. Procure samples of asphalt for DOT compliance,• Complete daily paperwork and test logs,• Conduct field production and testing of asphalt,• Perform daily quality control testing and analysis of asphalt samples, Responsible for safely operating, maintaining, and caring for assigned testing equipment, Perform additional duties as assigned, May be required to work extended hours including evenings, nights, and weekends.
