With more than 50 years of experience, we build custom machinery and systems engineered to meet demanding industrial applications.</p><p>Roberts Sinto is currently seeking an <strong>Industrial Machine Controls Assembler</strong> to join our team in Grand Ledge, MI. This position focuses primarily on <strong>wiring and assembling electrical control panels for industrial machinery in an OEM manufacturing environment</strong>.</p><h2>What You Will Do</h2><p>The Industrial Machine Controls Assembler is responsible for <strong>building, wiring, and verifying electrical control panels</strong> used in heavy industrial equipment. This role is hands-on and production-focused, with the majority of time spent <strong>wiring panels, routing cables, and assembling control systems</strong> according to prints and specifications.</p><h3>Electrical Panel Assembly & Wiring</h3><ul><li>Wire and assemble industrial electrical control panels according to schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of material</li><li>Install and wire components such as PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, power supplies, relays, terminal blocks, sensors, and safety devices</li><li>Route, label, and terminate wiring to OEM standards and customer specifications</li><li>Perform point-to-point wiring checks and basic electrical verification</li><li>Maintain neat, organized, and professional panel layouts</li></ul><h3>Production & Equipment Support</h3><ul><li>Support integration of control panels into industrial machinery</li><li>Assist with machine power-up, checkout, and troubleshooting as needed</li><li>Support equipment run-offs and testing activities</li><li>Assist with panel or equipment modifications and rework when required</li><li>Coordinate with assembly, engineering, and controls teams to resolve issues</li></ul><h3>Quality, Systems & Safety</h3><ul><li>Follow established assembly procedures, quality standards, and work instructions</li><li>Ensure work complies with applicable electrical codes and internal standards</li><li>Accurately complete job tracking and documentation using ERP systems (Syteline)</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area</li><li>Adhere to all safety policies and ISO quality requirements</li></ul><h2>What We Want From You</h2><h3>Education & Experience</h3><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>2–5 years of experience wiring industrial control panels, preferred</li><li>Experience in an <strong>OEM manufacturing or machine-building environment</strong> strongly preferred</li></ul><h3>Preferred Experience</h3><ul><li>Industrial controls, automation, or electrical assembly background</li><li>Familiarity with PLC-based control systems and industrial automation components</li><li>Experience wiring panels for custom or engineered-to-order machinery</li></ul><h3>Skills and Abilities</h3><ul><li>Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts</li><li>Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality</li><li>Working knowledge of hand tools, electrical tools, and measuring devices</li><li>Basic understanding of industrial electrical safety practices</li><li>Ability to follow written and verbal instructions</li><li>Effective communication and teamwork skills</li><li>Working knowledge of basic math concepts (measurements, counts, ratios)</li></ul><h2>Physical Requirements</h2><p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to handle tools, wires, and electrical components; and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Our core values and our people-first culture remain the same.</i> <br/><br/>As a Wall Assembler at Carter Components <strong>Lansing, MI </strong>your job duties and responsibilities are as follows:</p><ul><li>Arrive to work ready to perform your duties.  Dressed appropriately w/ PPE, all tools accounted for, stretched, positive attitude, ready to take on the day.  Employees are permitted to clock in seven minutes prior to start of their scheduled shift.</li><li>Perform start-up checklist for equipment in your assigned work area; guns, tables, nailing bridge, hoist, forklifts, etc. </li><li>Report any issues to management, and always follow all safety precautions.</li><li>Routine tasks for building walls:<ul><li>Load correct batch/wall into computer</li><li>Assemble opening for designed wall</li><li>Set opening into framing station if needed and set studs into framing station.</li><li>Nail all studs</li><li>Apply sheeting if required or router openings if required</li><li>Nail sheeting with nail gun bridge</li><li>Stack walls in accordance to bundles with overhead hoist.</li></ul></li><li>Be aware of your surroundings.<ul><li>Use caution when transferring walls from one workstation to the next.</li><li>Never aim nail gun at yourself or in the direction of a co-worker.</li><li>Keep a clean area, free of debris/ trip hazards.</li></ul></li><li>If incident occurs you must have proper knowledge of the shutdown procedure of nail gun and clamping table, this procedure is outlined and at every machine. If you are still unclear of this process after your initial Safety in the Workplace training and Lockout Tag Out Training, ask for more in-depth training and it will be provided.</li><li>If injury occurs preform shut down procedures and send other employee at the table to inform your supervisor immediately.</li><li>Be at work on time, be back from break on time and working when you’re supposed to be, no later than 2 minutes after your break. If you have finished cleaning before the end of your shift help clean other areas of the shop. They are created by connecting lumber with metal plates, and in this position, you would be responsible for building these components. To begin each day, you will complete a start-up checklist to make sure all the equipment in your area is ready for building. A computer at your workstation will provide you with all the information you need to build the truss. Based on the design, you and your team will set up a framework on the building table, within which the truss will take shape. Then, you will place each piece of lumber in the appropriate position and join them with metal plates.
