The University is undergoing an exciting phase of research infrastructure expansion, including a $7M federal investment to renovate and expand the existing BSL3/A-BSL3 into 6 biocontainment suites, with shared equipment spaces and biocontainment entry/exit showers, for Select Agent, biodefense, and/or emerging infectious disease research. The University and College have numerous Centers of Excellence and core facilities to support research efforts, including the Advanced Microscopy and Imaging Center, Flow Cytometry Core, Microbiome Consortium, Electron Microscopy Core, Histology Core, and other integrated core facilities.
