The Systems Engineer participates in all phases of the system development lifecycle (SDLC), with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, verification, validation, and acceptance activities, including Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) and Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E).
