The PA collaborates with other disciplines to develop - implement - and coordinate a system of patient care delivery that promotes communication - teamwork - high quality care - patient satisfaction - positive outcomes - appropriate utilization of resources and cost-effective services.</p></div><div>Duties<ul><li>VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package</li><li>General Description of Duties: The PA will be fully qualified and certified to function in a clinical role and in accordance with the guidelines and policies of the VASLCHCS</li><li>This individual is delegated the authority and responsibility in their area of expertise to assume major clinical - consultative - educational - research - and administrative duties and assignments related to the examination of veterans seeking Primary Care at VASLCHCS</li><li>This individual is delegated the authority and responsibility in his/her area of expertise to assume major clinical - consultative - educational - research - and administrative duties and assignments related to the examination of claimants filing compensation and pension claims</li><li>Clinical The PA practices general medicine with a focus on community-based outpatient clinical care</li><li>Approximately 90% of the PA's time is dedicated to developing and maintaining an interdisciplinary approach to the direct care of general medicine clinic patients</li><li>The PA independently follows his own panel of general medicine patients - functioning as their primary care provider</li><li>This primary care/gatekeeper role is incumbent with a high degree of responsibility and independence</li><li>he location of the CBOC away from the Medical Center means that he PA's assessment skills and breadth of knowledge must be superior</li><li>In addition - she must be a highly effective communicator in order to negotiate with consultants at the VAMC regarding the triaging of patients he refers</li><li>These skills are required at a level that exceeds that of VAMC-based physician assistants</li><li>Administrative Because of the highly integrative approach used in Primary Care outpatient clinics</li><li>The PA must work closely with their colleagues and must serve as a leader in developing processes to improve care and satisfaction</li><li>Research If assigned research duties - the PA enrolls patients in active Ambulatory Care research protocols and completes follow-up visits with required studies</li><li>Supervisory Controls The incumbent reports clinically and administratively to: CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER (CMO) of the assigned clinic location and the ASSOCIATE CHIEF OF STAFF PRIMARY CARE (ACOS PC)</li><li>Work Schedule: Full-Time - Mon-Fri 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (compressed schedule may be available - if approved by supervisor - after initial orientation and ramp-up) Telework: This is not a telework position</li><li>Virtual: This is not a virtual position</li><li>Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: May be authorized for qualified applicants Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized</li></ul></div>#J-18808-Ljbffr
