Organizationally responsible and accountable for the fabrication, assembly, installation, calibration, diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, and checkout of avionics, electronic, mechanical, thermal, electromechanical, life support and optical systems, subsystems, and components contained on the spacecraft and associated ground support equipment. Primarily responsible for supervising hourly technician and quality inspectors who assemble, test, and check out the Orion spacecraft that will transport astronauts to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit including the Moon and Deep Space Exploration such as Mars.
