The Intelligence and Operations Solutions Division within the Airborne & Mission Solutions Business Area of Leidos is seeking a Maintenance Academic Instructor to support the Army National Guard (ARNG) Aviation Training Services and Operational Support (ATSOS) program in Marana, AZ.

Leidos is the prime contractor providing flight training, simulation training, classroom instruction and schoolhouse support activities including the One Army School System (OASS) integration, and Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) maintenance for platforms and simulation devices in use or anticipated to be in use by the Army National Guard.
p/>Working Conditions: All positions are required to work rotating shifts, which include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as on-call, and to work an assigned post that can be rotated/reassigned at management’s discretion; Frequently operates aircraft during nighttime hours, including extended flights over mountainous, desert, and heavily populated urban terrain; Frequently exposed to extreme weather conditions, including excessive heat, cold, high winds, precipitation, and low visibility; Frequently exposed to aviation hazards including propeller/jet blast, noise, vibration, moving vehicles, and rotating machinery; Frequently exposed to stressful and volatile law enforcement situations, including airborne pursuit of fleeing suspects and search and rescue operations; May be exposed to biohazards, hazardous chemicals, fuel, and exhaust fumes during aircraft inspections and refueling; Frequently works in and around law enforcement personnel, suspects, prisoners, and members of the public; May be required to work extended hours or remain on duty for prolonged periods during critical incidents or special operations.
Physical/Sensory Work Requirements: Must be able to distinguish colors, detect smoke within the cockpit, and detect warning devices when working around equipment and within aircraft; Frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds; Occasionally lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; Frequently push, pull, and tow aircraft using manual and mechanical means; Frequently bend, crouch, kneel, and reach to conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections; Frequently climb ladders, steps, and aircraft structures to access aircraft components; Sit for extended periods while operating aircraft; Operate hand tools, fueling equipment, and aircraft ground support equipment; Must have vision correctable to 20/20 (near and distant), with normal color vision and depth perception; Must be able to hear, understand, and communicate clearly over aviation radios, intercoms, and law enforcement communications equipment; Must be able to operate aircraft while wearing and using personal protective equipment including night vision goggles, aviation helmets/headsets, and flight suits; Maintain alertness and sustained concentration for extended periods during night operations.
