This role focuses on providing individualized behavioral interventions, implementing behavior management plans, and promoting positive behavior in the classroom and throughout the school environment. The Behavior Interventionist collaborates with educators and families to create supportive strategies that help students succeed academically and socially.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Behavioral Support & Intervention:<ul><li>Assess and monitor students with behavioral challenges, developing individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs).</li><li>Provide direct support to students with emotional and behavioral needs through one-on-one interventions or small group sessions.</li><li>Implement evidence-based strategies to reduce disruptive behaviors and promote positive behaviors in students.</li><li>Support students in developing social skills, self-regulation, and coping mechanisms.</li></ul></li><li>Collaboration & Consultation:<ul><li>Work closely with teachers, school counselors, and administrators to create and implement effective behavior management strategies.</li><li>Provide guidance to teachers and staff on managing challenging behaviors in the classroom.</li><li>Collaborate with families to share strategies and offer support in addressing behavioral concerns at home and in school.</li></ul></li><li>Behavioral Data Collection & Monitoring:<ul><li>Collect and analyze data related to student behavior and progress on behavioral goals.</li><li>Track and document behavioral incidents and provide detailed reports to teachers, administrators, and families.</li><li>Monitor the effectiveness of behavior intervention strategies and make adjustments as necessary.</li></ul></li><li>Professional Development:<ul><li>Provide training and professional development to staff on behavior management techniques, de-escalation strategies, and creating positive classroom environments.</li><li>Stay informed about current research and best practices in behavior intervention and share this knowledge with staff.</li></ul></li><li>Crisis Management:<ul><li>Provide support in crisis situations, including de-escalating conflict or disruptive behavior and ensuring the safety of students and staff.</li><li>Assist in developing and implementing school-wide behavioral protocols and crisis response plans.</li></ul></li><li>Promote Positive School Culture:<ul><li>Help create a positive school environment by promoting respect, responsibility, and social-emotional learning.</li><li>Encourage and support the implementation of school-wide behavior expectations and systems of positive reinforcement.</li></ul></li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or related field (Master's preferred).</li><li>Certification or training in behavior intervention strategies is a plus (e.g., Applied Behavior Analysis or Crisis Prevention).</li></ul></li><li>Experience:<ul><li>Minimum of [2-3] years of experience working with students with behavioral and emotional needs, ideally in an educational setting.</li><li>Experience with behavioral assessments, developing and implementing BIPs, and using data to monitor progress.</li></ul></li><li>Skills & Abilities:<ul><li>Strong understanding of behavior management principles, interventions, and social-emotional learning.</li><li>Ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and collaborate with staff.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills.</li><li>Knowledge of educational technology tools to support behavior tracking and communication.</li></ul></li></ul>Working Conditions:<ul><li>Full-time position, typically during school hours.</li><li>Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for meetings or family conferences.</li></ul>Salary: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.Helix Community Schools is an equal opportunity employer and encourages individuals of all backgrounds to apply.

Our Behavior Interventionists impact students’ lives by:<ul><li style="list-style-type:disc">Implementing with fidelity the school discipline and behavioral support systems</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Collaborating with student support team members and teachers to help students maintain high behavior expectations</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Working closely with the classroom teacher to support instruction for more than 50% of the workday</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Building effective relationships with students and families and professionally communicating with families to encourage behavior changes at the school</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Maintaining a school culture conducive to raising student achievement including, but not limited to, monitoring behavior pull-out rooms, hallways, cafeteria, after-school detention, and recess</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Collecting and analyzing behavioral data to inform discipline decisions and improve practice</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Providing supportive interventions to families and students</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">After CPI training, implementing de-escalation techniques when working with students in crisis</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Responding with urgency to student support needs</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Transitioning disruptive students quickly and without escalation from the classroom</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Monitoring behavior pull-out rooms so students have a calm and orderly place to redirect themselves</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Implementing weekly feedback and goal-setting into daily practice</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Participating in daily, weekly, and quarterly meetings about student achievement </li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Participating in the life of the school, including student activities and events</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Embodying, advocating, and operationalizing the mission, vision, and direction of the school</li><li style="list-style-type:disc">Taking on other tasks as needed</li></ul>What We Offer:<ul><li style="list-style-type:disc"><a href="https://crescentcityschools.org/compensation/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration:none" target="_blank">Click here</a> for more information about our innovative compensation system.
