There is an occasional exposure to dangerous chemicals/solvents while compounding products and chemotherapy drugs.<br/><br/></div><div><strong>Equipment Used to Perform Job:</strong></div><div>PC with pharmacy software and printer, cash register, pharmacy balance, scanner, calculator, telephone, fax, and copier.</div><div>Financial Responsibility</div><div>Is fully responsible for company assets including prescription inventory, third party accounts receivable, pharmacy computer and software, and pharmacy fixtures. Has full authority, within reasonable limits, to purchase inventory for the pharmacy.<br/><br/></div><div><strong>Contacts:</strong></div><div>Has daily contact with customers, general public, and suppliers/vendors, and pharmacy operations support staff. Has occasional contact with community or trade/professional organizations and federal/state governmental or regulatory agencies.<br/><br/></div><div><strong>Confidentiality:</strong></div><div>Maintains the confidentiality of the customer’s private medical information according to the HIPAA act. The USP 800 is intended to ensure that personnel of reproductive capability understand the risks of handling hazardous drugs. Department Details
This position is Monday through Friday daytime hours. This position does include being on call for after hour durable medical equipment needs.</p><p>Job Summary
Must have a broad understanding of the DME industry including the intake process, product selection, dispensing, and setup documentation, billing compliance, and performance management. Provide first-line communication with a variety of patients, referral sources, and clinicians to facilitate ordering and delivery of durable medical equipment (DME) products, supplies, and services.</p><p>Ensure all patient information is processed timely and accurately to enhance patient satisfaction and optimize revenue. Receive inquiries and orders in person by telephone, fax, and email. Gather all necessary documentation as it relates to payer requirements, standard operating procedures, and compliance programs. Obtain any needed prior authorizations for services to be provided according to payer policy.</p><p>Communicate with patients, caregivers, and providers regarding the coverage, use, and benefits of DME products, supplies, and services. Resolve customer concerns, questions, and complaints by identifying problems and coordinating appropriate corrective action. Anticipate patient needs and respond quickly to patient requests.</p><p>Input new patient demographics and ordering information into the computer system, creating and assuring accuracy of sale orders and delivery tickets. Educate patients on insurance plans and provisions, financial responsibility, and collection of patient portion. Assist patients with product selection, recommending medically appropriate, cost-effective DME to meet the patients needs.</p><p>Provide fitting and patient education on application use, care, and expected outcome for products as indicated by the physician instructions and manufacturer recommendations. This patient education will happen in a variety of patient settings, including store facility or patient home.</p><p>Furnish patients with resources, including but not limited to:
• Customer Handbook
• Contact numbers
• Product manuals
• Reorder information
• Educational materials</p><p>Process paperwork - confirm accuracy of delivery tickets and complete the sale orders. Maintain a working knowledge base regarding billing documentation and reimbursement guidelines, including but not limited to Medicare, Medicaid, other third-party, and contracted payers.</p><p>Balance the cash drawer and prepares deposits. Assist in maintaining a clean, stocked, and sanitized store. Complete tasks with minimum supervision, exercising independent judgment. May be required to work after store hours in an on-call capacity. Perform other duties as assigned by management.</p><p>Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of computer functions and basic Microsoft Office applications.
Detail-oriented, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to follow through to the end.
Basic knowledge of the medical field with prior experience in home medical equipment preferred.</p><p>When applicable, the employee must have a current valid drivers license and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category III drivers.</p><p>Benefits
