Work Conditions:Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in camp activities, including but not limited to hiking, canoeing, swimming, team-building initiatives, building campfires, and other physical games and activitiesAbility to carry loads of up to 90 pounds and traverse hilly and uneven terrain without undue exertionAbility to work in conditions that may involve dirt and dustAbility to work with equipment such as fire protection gear, washers and dryers, dishwashers, and specialty program equipment; some roles may require driving camp vehicles or operating watercraftAbility to perform essential program support tasks, including but not limited to reaching (including overhead), crouching, kneeling, shoveling, working in confined spaces (underground, overhead, or ground level), twisting, and lying on stomach and/or backMust have sufficient visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and activity-related hazardsAbility to physically manage and assist children for safety purposes (supporting children weighing approximately 30-200 pounds)Ability to work outdoors in a variety of climates with daily exposure to sun, heat, and elements, including animals such as insects, snakes, horses, and chickens6.
