Job Opportunity – Neuroscience ICU Registered Nurse – Virginia**Start Date:** November 23, 2026**Location:** Richmond, Virginia**Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants**Schedule:** 12-bed Neuroscience ICU with 2:1 patient ratios; every other weekend required; no on-call; Day shift includes charge nurse, 5 RNs, 1 CNA, and 1 secretary; Night shift includes charge nurse and 5 RNs**Highlights:**- Specialized 12-bed Neuroscience ICU caring for stroke, neuro trauma, and post-surgical patients- Patient ratio of 2:1 with a collaborative team of 28 nursing staff members- Experience with advanced neuro procedures including ventriculostomy insertion, post-thrombectomy care, TPA administration, and tumor resection recovery- Meditech EMR system with Q1 hour Pupillometer monitoring and lumbar drain/ventric management- Opportunity to cross-train in neuroscience step-down unit (4-5 patient ratio when floated)- Navy scrubs; supportive team environment focused on quality patient outcomes**Requirements:**- Active RN license in good standing- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required- ICU experience required- Experience with neuro/stroke patients required- Neuroscience ICU experience preferred- Meditech documentation experience preferred- Ability to float within hospital and care for 4-5 patients in step-down setting**Why It's a Great Opportunity:**This position offers the chance to work with a dedicated neuroscience team in a specialized ICU setting where you'll care for complex neurological patients using advanced monitoring and treatment protocols.
