Responsibilities: Administer advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and provide mechanical ventilation for adults, children, and infants Use invasive and noninvasive technology to assist with the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary disorders Sample (arterial puncture) and analyze arterial blood gas Sample (arterial puncture) and analyze arterial blood gases Inspect, operate, maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment (oxygen equipment, Cpap, ventilators, blood gas analyzers) and other life support systems Maintain Intubation competency (5 per year) Insertion of radial arterial catheters (5 per year) Assessment /Administration of medical gases and aerosolized medications Follow weaning protocols in Critical Care areas Maintain 10 CEU's / year or 30 per NYS renewal Participate in performance improvement activities as assigned by department director Participate in staff development and continuing education activities as assigned by department director Participate in departmental level coordination activities as assigned by department director Qualifications: Must have a minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Science.
